Ecology

This species is common on intertidal or shallow subtidal coral reef flats amongst live coral and dead coral rubble. They can be found until 80m depth althoug they are more common in shallow waters. (Australia Faunal Directory 2012, Ahyong 2001). Stomatopods like to hide in burrows inside corals.
